Zach and I share extensive respect for the Grateful Dead’s catalog, journey, and the people, gear, and stories that surround their mystic history. This mutual passion and respect arise in the photographs, each of us feeling the weight of photographing storied people, venues, songs, and equipment. Zach creates the opportunities and I’ve been there to immortalize them. Whether it is photographing a sold-out show at a church-turned-club in San Francisco or capturing photographs of Jerry Garcia’s most legendary guitar, “Wolf”, while recording in a studio in Burlington.
